Dear Mr Loh!

Good day to you!
I’m Daniel Tan from Huttons.

Yes you are right you must dispose off your parent HDB apartment. However for the other private properties, you might also have to dispose or transfer them if you inherited them during your MOP period.

However do check with the HDB for more in depth information with regards to your concerns, as HDB sometimes do give some alternative options, subjected to their internal review.

Any other queries?
Please always feel free to contact me for a non-obligated discussion on how I can assist you with your real estate needs.

Have a great day ahead.

Best Regards

Good Day to you,

In this situation, the properties you inherited will have to be sold off/transferred. This includes the private properties.

This is because we can only own one HDB flat each. Also, during the MOP, we are not allowed to purchase any private property.

Hope that helps.

Feel free to contact me should you require assistance with your property transactions.

Hi Dickson,

If you happen to inherit any properties from anyone while you are still fulfilling your MOP for your HDB flat, you will be required to dispose off these properties.

And also to add on, if you were to inherit a HDB flat even after you have fulfilled your MOP for your own HDB, you will still be required to sell one of the HDB flats as nobody is allowed to hold on to more than one HDB flat.

As for inherited private properties, you do not need to sell them off if you have met your MOP.

Of course, there are always exception cases. Best is to write in to HDB for such cases.

Should you need any help from me regarding property matters, feel free to contact me at 97486305  .

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen

Good day mr dickson loh ..............i hope your parents are well ..............most likely scenerio you will have to sell the properties you are inheriting .................alternatively if you wish to keep the inherited properties , you can request to hdb board to surrender your hdb bto back to them ( unlikely to be approved ) .................or to request to hdb board to allow you to keep your non-mop bto hdb yet keep the inherit properties ( unlikely to be approved ) ......................If you have no need to cash out , do note it is in your favour if you can inherit multiple properties WITHOUT paying stamp duty when inheriting .................as oppose if you cash out now and later on buy properties-ABSD additional buyers stamp duty applies .......................kindly contact me for a no-obligations chat ..............my charges are 1% comm for exclusive selling rights to your property ..............joanne chia................hp 8333 3327  ..............huttons property Read More
