Hello, I am a Singapore PR, my wife is Singaporean. My wife and her mother who is also pr buy a HDB in 2014, that time we are not married. Thus my name not on HDB. We get married in late 2015 and have kid in 2017. So now I want buy a condo under my name. Some agent say I am occupier of the HDB and thus cannot buy condo now unti 5 years from 2014. Can someone help check the regulations and I will choose him/her as my representative for condo purchase

Hi,

Since your wife and her mother has purchased under their names, and if your name is not included in the hdb ownership, you can purchase condo on your own name.

You are eligible to purchase a private property under your SOLE name cause you are not listed as the owner or occupier of the HDB.

Do take note that the purchase cant include your wife or mother in law because they need to fulfill minimum occupation till 2019 in order to do so.

You can buy a pte property under your sole name as mentioned by my colleagues earlier. However, you would need to take into account ABSD of 5% for 1st purchase of property by PR.
