Please do note that you would have to fulfill the 5 years MOP before you are able to rent out for passive income. Furthermore, the appreciation scope of HDB have decreased significantly in recent times. Hence, as an investor cum own stay purchaser, purchasing a HDB may not fulfill your investment returns objectives. I had a client recently who wanted to purchase a HDB however, after much consultation, she went for a star buy 2BR condominium; as the returns are much higher and private properties appreciate exponentially over time. Currently there is the cheapest studio unit going at only $4xx!
