Hi,

I am planning to rent a unit in Condo, so are there any specific documents that I should ask from the owner before I sign the contract? Any particular documents that prove the legitimacy of the owner etc.?

Thanks!

Good morning tenant,

The landlord or his representative must show you the ownership proof before you hand over any money to them.

This information can be shown on property tax or inlis' ownership proof document.

Hope my explanation helps!

Good morning,

It is important for you to request for ownership proof before handing over any money.

If this is a private property, you should ask for "Land title" or IRAS return to proof that you are not renting from a tenant.

If this is a HDB, you should ask landlord to log in "HDB MyPage" website or town council booklet or receipt to show the ownership.

Please be reminded that subletting from a tenant is illegal as most if not all rental document has a clause over this.

Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more queries, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.

Best regards
