Hi, I’m purchasing a resale flat. May i know when should i pay the commission? I have been searching online and websites keep mentioning about when transaction is completed. Does transaction complete equals to collection of key? Can any gurus advise me?

No hard and fast rules, but I will usually only collect the commission after the whole transaction has completed (legal completion and not after any extension) as it will be the seller and buyer concern that the. transaction is not completed and yet they have already paid the commission, which is non-refundable.

Hi,

1) You must be worrying about the 1% increment in GST and trying to avoid this extra cost.
2) If this is a $500k transaction, a 1% commission is $5,000. The 7% GST of $5,000 is $350, and the 8% GST is $400. So the additional cost incurred is $50.
3) In general, the commission is paid after the buyers collected their keys for the purchase which is known as completion.
4) You may make the payment within these 3 days to avoid incurring this extra $50 as long as you have exercised the OTP.
