If paying the commission is your concern in this purchase, it is advisable to ensure that you have this concern addressed before any viewings are arranged to avoid similar situations from arising. In some listings from my understanding, listing agents have the permission from sellers or landlords to advertise but these owners or landlords do not pay any commission, therefore commission is expected from the tenants or purchasers, especially for new salesperson trying to start in this business. They need a starting point to work on therefore it is good if such technicalities could be ironed out before any viewings. If your ultimate concern is to be able to purchase a unit at a good price and this agent can help you achieve the objective of securing a good buy, I strongly encourage that you give this agent some credit in doing so. We know this buyer agent and seller agent thing has drawn a deep line but we believe the ultimate objective here is that agent do not dual represent and in the end compromise on everyone interest.
