I have some questions
1) When do i have the pay the agent fee? Before or after the sale of my flat? Because my agent say he will give me a discount if i pay him before my first hdb appt.
2) Can an agent give me a discount and dont charge me gst? Is it legal?
3) My bto house is ready for key collection this Nov but my house still not sold. I engaged my agent since March 2014. What can i do if my unit still not sold and my bto have to be cancelled? What is my rights as a consumer?

Afternoon,

Standard property agencies will mail out the invoice to you, prior the HDB first appointment. I would always advise my clients to make payment upon completion for the transaction. As for GST payable, it would have being discussed and inked onto the commission agreement form. If your agent did not let you sign any of the necessary documents, you might want to check it out with him accordingly.
I just closed a deal for my seller at CCK, 5 room flat, just to match their key collection to their BTO units. If your unit have not gotten a buyer prior key collection date, you might want to write to HDB and delay it. However, this is also dependent on your financial standing.
