Hi,
I'm a not so new RES but not in practice for many years but still uphold my real estate licence till now. I'm looking into joining another estate agency with a good mentor who can guide & mentor me. For a so called newbie (as I've not been active for many years), is it advisable for me to start off doing new project launches as I don't own a car too?

It’s not compulsory to own a car cause SG transportation is rather good, convenient and efficient too. Moreover, some projects are near MRT station, eg, the recently launch project Grand Dunman, beside Dakota MRT and Jden, beside Jurong East MRT and many others.

Hi,

1) To be honest, I would also recommend you to join a new project launch.
2) You can pick up the knowledge of timeline planning for a new launch under different client situations.
3) This can help you to do planning for your resale as well.
4) You can learn from the seniors in the project team while spending your time in the show flat waiting for walk-in customers.
5) Doing a roadshow also can build up your confidence in speaking to strangers.
6) You can also learn how to pitch which is a skill that can be applied to selling a resale unit.
7) You will also be able to learn how to identify unique selling points for a unit/project. This is also applicable to both new launches and resale.
8) Owning a car does give you convenient meeting customers, but this is not a must. You won't have so many customers to meet back-to-back.
