I would suggest you engage an agent to help you on this. You can actually do both in parallel. While your unit is being marketed for sale, your agent can at the same time bring you to view your new flat. Buying is easy now, but selling is not. So once you have an offer to your current flat, you can delay a while on the progress, and which same time you happen to eye on one unit, submit it together.

Contra case is not a problem, is more of a timing issue and whether the buyer allows you for extension stay that you can renovated your new flat first. With a good agent, your problem can be solved easily.
