I have bought my 1st flat 4 Room (resale flat, with Grants and HDB Loan) then I sold it off and bought my 2nd flat 5 Room (resale flat, with Grants and FI Loan). After 15 years in my 2nd flat, I intend to try for BTO 4 Room flat. I have gotten my HFE and waiting for June exercise. I know I will need to pay resale levy. My question is - Am I considered 2nd timer or 3rd timer buyer?

Hi,

You just need to check in the HFE letter whether it indicates you are still eligible for new HDB Flat. If so, that means you are still eligible, and is currently of 2nd-timer status. Otherwise not eligible to apply. Do note the resale levy is based on the date and year you sell your first subsidized flat. So if you sold that before March 2006, the resale levy can be substantial because its a % of the sale price with interest.

Did you HFE indicate that you are eligible for BTO? I am quite curious as base on your description, it seems that you are not eligible for BTO since you can only enjoy subsidy twice and this will be your 3rd time as BTO is also considered subsidised flat.
