I have just submitted OTP for my resale house. To my horror, the hdb valuation shows that the house have a difference of 10sqm which is told by the seller and seller agent. Any advice? Should i still proceed?
Can i ask for compensation?

Afternoon Ms. J,

As you are DIY buyer, you are required to perform the necessary search on the unit before you ink the OTP. You can approach the seller and the agent to work things out if required.

It is advisable to discuss and renegotiate the price with the seller and his or her agent.

If it is a honest mistake, I am sure they will be happy to discuss further with you!

Hi Ms J,

It is advisable for you to discuss with the seller and seller's agent (if any) on the pricing as the size of the unit has a major difference.

However, it might be a risk of your Option Fee being forfeited if you do not wish to proceed on the OTP, unless you have any documentation proof such as SMS/Whatsapp or even screenshot of the advertised size to show that it is the agent/seller mistake on the advertised size.
