I'm renting a room from HDB flat and I contacted the seller's agent directly. Towards closing he told me there is a co-broke agent and I have to pay half month agent fee to that agent, whom I haven't even seen at the viewing. The seller agent said no one is going to do my paperwork if I do not pay the half month standard fee. May I know if I actually need to pay anything as I understand co-broking is an arrangement between agents and it shouldn't involve the buyer? Thanks!

Afternoon Kelly,

If I do not remember wrongly, landlord and tenant will pay their own salesperson respectively. I do not know where your landlord's agent is coming from, but if things turn out bad, you can choose to do the paperwork on your own.

    Hi Mike,

How do I do my own paper work? Is it legally okay to do that? Thanks a lot again.

    Best,
    Kelly
