I messaged an agent in April to express interest to view a unit. Both me and my husband were very interested in the unit and we asked to view for a second time. And after second viewing we made an offer and only then the agent said he's actually representing the buyer not seller hence the buyer will need to pay the agent commissionn claiming that the seller cannot afford to pay for it.
We were surprised back then because it was not mentioned in the first viewing but because we are first time home owner, and we liked the unit a lot we agreed to it.
Thereafter during the transaction only we found out that the seller is the agent's colleague. Is this allowed within the agent code of conduct?
We have already paid the commission but we were very unhappy about it. Can I lodge a complain to CEA and is this a valid complain?
