What do you mean by registration with former EA? Do you mean that you did not renew for the past 12 months and are now looking to rejoin this industry?

If you have de-registered for up to 2 years, you are required to fulfil the same number of CPD hours as if you did not leave the industry, before applying for registration.

If you have de-registered for more than 2 years, you are required to take the RES course and pass the RES examination before applying for registration.

To switch and EA, there will usually not be any joining fees, in fact my company also gives out joining bonuses to RES coming on board with us (terms and conditions apply of course).

Once you had registered with any EA, and approved by CEA and decided to change EA, you need to submit as “switching agency”. First you have to inform your current EA to inform of your switch, once approved you then apply to the new EA. If you happen to break the “specified bond”, with the current EA, sometimes they will impose a fee which you have to pay for “breaking the bond”.
