    Thanks for your reply. But the seller had been staying for more than 20yrs. Because the wife is a foreigner. So need to get approval from hdb intent to sell?

Hi, you just need to login to HDB and register your intent to sell. Generally most houses will not have an issue selling as long as they meet the MOP period, but certain units may be in special situations whereby HDB prohibits them from selling. If you need more assistance, I can assist.

You need to log into your HDB resale portal to register your intent to sell, and if approved, you will have a 7 days cooling period where you are unable to accept any offers even if the offer is super attractive. Only after the 7 days cooling period, you can then accept offer and grant the Option To Purchase. Read More

Hi Sir/Mdm,

The HDB sale process is quite a rigid process and in order to kick start the sale, the first thing you need to do is to register your intention to sell with the HDB via an online process. After the Intent to Sell registration process is done, there will be a 7 days cooling off period during which you are not allowed to sell.

If you did not do the Intent to Sell, you will not be able to sell even if you have a willing buyer. The Intent to Sell, once done is valid for 1 year and even if you do not sell the flat eventually, it will just lapse.

The first step for hdb sale is to register the Intent to Sell at the hdb flat portal, to kickstart the process proper. Once the Intent to Sell is registered, you can only issue any Option to Purchase document to any buyer 7 days later.

1) The intention of the HDB requires the sellers to submit an intent to sell to ensure the sellers are conscious of what they want to do.
2) There is a cooling period of 7 days after getting approval from the HDB to sell.
3) This is an additional measure to allow the sellers to make a final decision before selling.
