Hi Sir/Mdm,

Unfortunately under the current HDB rules, you will need to sell or transfer the condo and then wait out a 30 months period before you are eligible to purchase a HDB. The opportunity cost is quite high and therefore I would recommend that you either stay in the current condo or use your spouse name to purchase another private property.

By the way, you could either sell or to transfer the ownership away but however you would still need to observe a wait out period of 15 months before you could purchase the next HDB flat.

As you currently own a private property, you are not eligible to purchase a HDB flat.

Should you wish to purchase a HDB resale flat, you will need to sell off the condo under your name, and then wait out for 15 months before you can purchase the resale flat.

If you wish to get a BTO flat direct from HDB, the wait out period would be 30 months.
