We are looking to purchase 3 room HDB resale. Likely cash purchase of lesser than $500k, don’t need bank loan. Already submit HDB intent to buy. We are both Singaporean married couple.

We are looking to appoint buyer agent to help us in searching the flats. We would not pay comm. The buyer agent have to co broke and share comm with seller agent, as advised by other gurus here.

Hi,

I think you got that mixed up. For purchase of private property, the buyer would usually not have to pay any commission as your agent would share it with the seller agent. But as for HDB flat, the commission for the buyer agent will be at 1% with gst.

Dear sir/madam,

As what Aaron has mentioned, you may have gotten mixed up on the commission arrangement for buying resale HDB with buying private property.

Buyer will require to pay their appointed agent while Seller will pay their appointed agent in a resale HDB transaction.
