Hello, I've enlisted my relative as my agent to help with selling my current flat. While browsing through the resale HDB listings on PropertyGuru, I've noticed that each property has its designated agent. Considering my trust in her, I'm curious whether my relative, who is handling the sale of my current flat, can also represent me in purchasing resale flats. Is there a possibility of a conflict of interest, or can they effectively collaborate?

Hi,
Yes she can help you in both process, there isn't any conflict unless she owns the property that you intend to purchase. In any conflict of interest, she is responsible to inform you. If you still need more advise, you may text me.

1) There is no conflict of interest if she is not buying your flat or selling her flat to you.
2) If any of the situations mentioned above then it is considered a conflict of interest.
3) As she is unable to keep her interest from yours. She owns a fiduciary duty to you when representing you.
4) In layman, she must have your interest at the highest priority in negotiating the deals.
