Hi experts
Is it a general practice for agents to Share commission? 1 only recommend the contact to another colleague. Agent didn’t bring this colleague along during the entire process from viewing to closing the deal. Curious since agent claims that they’re splitting half each of the commissions earned.

Hi, this will depend from agent to agent. Some agents will share commission if they managed to close the deal from a referral. Other agents will get the assistance of another agent to help market the unit, and share the commission once it is done.

depend> some after closing the case > still will do the after closing sales SERVICING work> normally i believe IF IT IS AGENT A Who share the commission with agent B> It is agent A Who deemed agent B to contribute in some ways or another and both party agrees and 3rd party who is not an agent might not see the value or perspective of Agent A ,。。。eg Agent B IF DON'T HAVE CONTACT from agent A > Agent B has NOTHING TO CLOSE to in the first place for that particular case , and who knows Agent A Input (more/ much) efforts or marketing cost just to get that ONE POTENTIAL LEAD

I suppose you are a private seller/landlord who received an offer for your property and is in the process of negotiating the commission?

Benefit of doubt given to the agent, as I have experience and benefit from the same arrangements too. Buyer/tenant whom contacted me viewed my colleague or partner's unit without me being around and when closed deal, I get my share of commission from the partner or colleague.

It is up to the agents to decide how they can work together, and sometimes it is vice versa.

You may verify if you like on the existence of the cobroke agent as well as the forms they signed and submitted if it is able to resolve your doubts. Read More
