Hi, if i have HDB flat which is still within 5 years occupation period but want to invest in private property, can i use my parent name to buy private property? if my parent who are foreigner and retired unable to take bank loan in Singapore, can i act as guarantor for them to take the loan.

Hi Frank,

For pte properties, it is possible to use your name as guarantor to take up the loan and your parents name to buy the property.

However, please note that if in any time u want to transfer to your name, stamp duty and legal applies.
