Hi ,me and my wife are SPR since 2010 and my PR got extended toll dec 2019.We own a HDB 5I in Punggol since Nov 2010(in between we went to London for 1.6yrs).Currently we are planning to buy a Condo after we sell our HDB.How much taxes should i pay?will this be considered under 2nd buy? normally what amount do we need to have in case we need to go for a condo of 10,00,000s$...please include all ..including agent fees,paper work etc

Hi, you are only eligible to sell your current hdb provided you have hit the MOP. And MOP means you have to physically stayed in the unit for at least 5 years, not counting the 1.6 years that both of you are overseas then.

Morning,

As SPR and if you have purchased your unit before 29 Aug 2010, MOP is only one year. But if your purchase date is after that, MOP is 3 years. Being away for 1.6 years and if you requested approval for rental, it's likely that you may not have fulfilled the MOP requirement.
If you have sold the HDB, the purchase of the condo will be considered as your first unit in holding. 5% ABSD is payable by cash.
