Hi property professionals,

I would like to ask if a tenant can rent out a room to me? Is it allowed by law?

My situation is that there is a room for me but the person is a tenant who is renting the whole house and is looking to renting it to me a room but I am worried that this is not allowed by law. I saw it in the HDB website that sub-owner is not allowed to sublet to other tenants and I do not want any trouble.

For your quick professional advice and help please.

All tenancy agreement need to sign by owner of the HDB. Except for private property as long as the owner agree subleasing.
