Hi, we got HDB flat under SERS in 2008. Now we have moved overseas and have no intention to return. We will stay for good overseas. We want to sell our flat now in the open market, but HDB said, must fullfil MOP first. How to? Until now, place is rented out. But have to stop that in 2013 acc to HDB. How to convince HDB and allow us to sell? Can understand that 5 years MOP is there to stop investors, but us? No idea? Thanks for helping.

Morning,

Your unit was awarded to you due to enbloc of your previous unit. For such cases, the MOP can either be 5 years from key collection or 7 years from date of selection. Did you rent out your unit immediately after key collection? How long have you stayed in your unit before requesting for it to be rented out? Are you looking at renouce of citizenship?

I would need more details before I can give an possible advise.
