I am a private property owner. If I would like to purchase a resale HDB flat, from when with the 15 month be calculated? From OTP date, when the OTP is excercised or when the sale is completed?

Hi,
The timeline is based on the completion of the sale. However, if you are over 55 years of age and buying 4rm or smaller, there will also be exemptions. So, please contact me so that I can assist you further.

Good morning Sir/ Mdm,

15 months wait out period will kick start from your sale completion date if you intend to purchase a resale HDB.

Even having said that, if you are above 55 years old you will be eligible to purchase up to 4RM HDB. The above rule will not be applicable.

For the 15 months period, it is calculated based on the date of completion of sale. It will be important to retain the document of the sale for verification by HDB when required.

The 15 months waiting period is from the sale completion date. For HDB purchase, it takes about 3.5 to 4 months to be completed. For your case, I will suggest that you will need an interim housing solution for at least 24 months taking into account the renovation of the resale HDB flat.
