I have doubts about purchasing HDB flat that aged 30 years and above. Is it true that we are not allowed to utilise all the balance in our CPF and have to come up the rest with cash (unlike with flats that are below 30 years)? Kinldy advise.

Hi Mrs Tan,

This is only applicable for HDB flats with a remaining lease of less than 29 years.

You are still allowed to utilise all your CPF funds for HDB flats with remaining lease of 60 years and above.

As for HDB flats with remaining lease of 30 to 59 years, you are still allowed to use all your CPF funds unless you belongs to the category of buyers whom the remaining lease cannot cover you to the age of 80.

The total CPF usage by the household will be the pro-rated Valuation Limit (VL)# based on the ratio of the remaining lease when the youngest buyer who can use CPF turns 55 years old, to the lease at point of purchase.

Hope it helps!

Cheers!
