I saw an inquiry on caveats being lodged. Just curious, must caveats always be lodged? The reason I am asking is because my dad has a property in district 9, the mkt rate psf is worth 2,000 psf. He wants to "sell" it to me, at a rate of 1,000 psf which is way below market value. I know stamp duty will be on market value which is fine. Question is, if the caveat is lodged, seeing such a low price, wont the whole estate pricing be affected? I was asking the bank on this and they say when the psf is so much lower than mket rate, the ceveat will not be published on URA website. Is that true?
