I viewed a Condo which was for rent via an agent last week and the decided to rent the condo. The agent who claimed that he was authorised to sign the letter on intent on behalf of the owner. So paid him a $1000 deposit instantly and he gave us a letter on intent to rent the condo.Just on the eve of the day where we were suppose to finalise the deal he contacted me and informed that unless i sign a 2 year lease the deal cannot go through. What are my options against the agent?
