I'm a content marketer keen on becoming a full-time property agent. However I am put off my many team ads online showing off limos and 100k commission earners, whereas I feel that the focus should be what's the team USP and they way they find leads and focus on the interests of buyers and sellers. I'm really averse to all these showing off (wearing rows of lapel pins look ridiculous), and I just want to make a difference to homeowners and buyers. Is real estate career still the right choice for me?

I feel you ... these are the usual ads in the industry. Being a content marketer i am sure you will definitely understand the needs of doing this though sometimes it tends to be exaggerated. I believe you have the makes of being an outstanding agent as you already understand the needs & concern to make a difference for the buyer/seller even before becoming an agent. Previously when i first started all i can think of was the amount of commission to be made. Thus you do not need to doubt yourself, you will make a great realtor. Just to share with you a little bit about myself. I won the SAEA Real Estate Excellence Silver Award for Best Client Service in on of the National Real Estate Congress. I do understand where you are coming from. But there are always two sides to a coin and there is just so much you can include in an advertisement. Thus most advertisements might turn you off and seems like a show off. But if you look at the other way, these producers must be doing something right that they are reaping rewards for their hardwork and effort.

Let me ask you this. I am pretty sure when you decide which school to clear your RES course, you will have this in mind. Which school has the better probability to pass the exams?

So if I give you a choice to choose between an agency that is able to provide full support in terms on mentoring, soft skillset, technical knowledge, mindset to kickstart your real estate career and assist lots of clients to grow their wealth at the right time or one that is a total opposite.

I share you sentiments. Which is why I with never with those "walking Christmas trees".

Joke aside, I will never tell new agent what my top producers earn as for each batch of agents goind through the same training, there will be top producers (usually not the next mentor), the slow and steady (who end up building strong teams) and the bums who drop off complaining about everything.
