My hdb flat previously under my parent and I pay through my cpf. After both my parents passed on, its (solely) under my name.

My wife and I bought a condo under both of our name. (Co-owned)

If I want to sell off condo and hdb flat to get a new BTO, what is the best option?

I understand that if selling off condo I will need to wait for 30 months before can apply for BTO. So will it is better if I sell off condo and move back to my HDB flat to wait for 30 months then apply for New BTO?

Dear sir,

Yes, the requirement is to wait out 30 months after disposing your interest in a private property before you are eligible to apply for a BTO, but I am just curious why are you looking to this option? Are you planning for your retirement or purely cashing out on your existing portfolios?

Good afternoon,

Yes you need to wait out 30 months after selling the private property, before you are eligible to apply the new BTO. You can stay in your HDB while concurrently applying, assuming you meet all other HDB new eligibility conditions.

Hi,

1) You are considered lucky as you owned both private residential property and an HDB flat.
2) Many people who wished to apply for BTO but owned a private residential property not only have to rent a place during this 30 months period. They also have to wait till the BTO is ready for key collection before able to stop paying rent. This whole waiting process could be as long as 6~9 yrs if not more.
3) Your understanding of the sequence and process is correct that you should sell off your condo and move back to HDB to wait for 30 months before being eligible to apply for BTO or SBF.
