Tenant sue Landlord for early termination of rental.
Hi wanna ask, my tenant wanna sue me for early termination of rental. I rented then for a period of 2yrs, but due to divorce I am force to terminate my lease. But I also have given 6 weeks of advance notice. Now I am stress they went to small claim court and sue me how how really need some help in this. Thank you

Hi Jay,

Your Tenancy agreement should include an exit clause for you and also a decent notice period for your tenant to seek alternative accommodation and vacate. Having experience these situation, I can safely say that most of the time the matter is resolved amicably without the need for legal intervention. You will need to go through the Tenancy Agreement and make sure that all the clauses are in our favour so you can ask your current tenants to vacate with a written notice safely.
