Thanks all who replied to my earlier enquiry on “ I was conned by an agent and landlord who went back on their word and proceeded to deduct my deposit for miscellaneous items that were totally working fine. We also had a property return form specifying that the landlord bears the charges for things that were never rectified and not provided for when I moved in, as well as WhatsApp screenshots. The agent refused to reply, the agency as well. What can I do? I don’t expect to get back the money, but the agent goes away scot free? Is this a norm in the industry?”

I was unable to reply on that thread so I’m continuing here. I had lodge a complaint to CEA, but according to them, dishonest agents not fulfilling contractual obligations are not of their concern. I guess I have to accept it as it is?
