Hi,
I am single and age below 35, but I wanted to own a home for myself so I am thinking of apply BTO with my parents. My parents currently have a HDB flat (passed MOP) but my name is not on the flat. Do my application consider First Timer or Second Timer? If it is consider as Second Timer, does it affect the grant that I can get? And my parents are not going to sell their HDB flat, do I still need to pay resale levy?

Hi,

I regret to inform you that you are not eligible to apply for a BTO as you are under 35 years old. You could however form a valid family nucleus and apply with your parents.

Should your parents be a first or second timer to apply for a BTO, they will be required to sell off their current HDB flat latest within 6 months upon the completion (taking keys) of their new BTO HDB flat.

Whether or not there are any Grants, will be dependent on whether your parents current flat is a subsidised flat, and if they had taken any Grant before. Do take note that they will also be required to pay a Resale Levy if they are a second-timer.

I am experienced and well-versed in both private and HDB resale transactions. I will be able to assist you in your housing plans.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
