I dont know if this is property advise or law advice. I need advice. i was granted probate and became an administrator for a HDB flat. for a few years, my siblings was staying at the unit as they do not have a place to stay. recently they moved out and i started the process to sell the property however i was informed by the agent that it was unsuccessful and the sale require a 'court order may have to be obtain for the sale of the flat'. The agent is checking with HDB for me while i checked in with the law firm that deals with my probate previously. I was quoted a price of $5K++ and the process will take 3-6 motnhs. Can i change law firm to process this court order or should i stick with the law firm? is the fees normal?.

Hi there, there shouldn't be any issue with the sales, did you go down to the HDB branch office to change the ownership upon granting of probate? It should be under your probate administration. at what stage are you currently stuck in? I would need more information before I can advice accordingly.

How many years did your sibling stay in this property? There is a "expiry" date for the letter of administration from my understanding. There is no need to stick to the same law firm as per my understanding too. You can search for another law firm to do the process but the pricing should be pretty similar.
