I have signed an exclusive authorisation contract with an agent to sell my flat two weeks ago. However, I have changed my mind and had decided not to sell. The valuation is not out and my flat has not been marketed yet. What are the penalties or fees i need to pay if I terminate the contract with the agent? Thanks.

Morning Selena,

Your salesperson should have advised you on the details and content of the exclusive. As seller, you are free to let your salesperson and his agency know about your intention by giving them a written or verbal notice. As for the penalties, unless additional clause are added, you should not be liable.
