Hi,

Once you purchase a resale HDB, you have to fulfil the MOP of 5 years before you can purchase another private condo. May I have more info and requirements about your plans so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Hi,

You can sell off your EC after 5 years.

But after selling, it does not make sense for you to buy a private condo and a HDB resale flat.

If you buy a private condo and then a HDB resale flat, you are required to sell off this condo within 6 months after the completion of your HDB resale flat. This will likely incur you a 16% SSD (Seller Stamp Duty) for the sale of your private condo, if the purchase is within 1 year.

If you buy a HDB resale flat first, you will need to serve a 5-year Minimum Occupation Period (MOP) before you can buy a private condo.

Afternoon,

If you are looking at staying in HDB unit and rent out private condo, it would mean that you will need to sell away your EC after fulfilling MOP. Then you will buy another HDB unit. Fulfill MOP again before getting your second property. It would not make any commercial sense to do so. If your financial status allow, why not purchase your second property and stay in your EC?
