Hi,

(1) Only SC is allowed to hold on to HDB & private property.

(2) You have to fulfilled MOP of HDB before allow to hold another private property.

(3) Once you purchase private property regardless of completion status, you are the owner of the property without doubt.

You can only commit to another residential property (be it HDB or private) purchase after you had served your 5-year MOP for your current HDB flat.

You can however look into commercial properties, as these are not affected by the MOP rules.

I am afraid to inform you that you will have to fulfill your minimum occupation period first before you are eligible to exercise the option to purchase/ sales and purchase agreement for a private property.

If you are looking at investment opportunity, might have to be commercial or industrial property for the time being.
